DHOOM MACHALE

Dhoom machale! Roughly translated from Hindi to English, this expression means "make commotion!" Dhoom machale is the catchy theme song of the movie Dhoom 2. As I was watching the movie yesterday, I was thoroughly inspired to make my own commotion. I will start with my critique of the movie. Although Dhoom 2 is entertaining, I must say it's completely unrealistic. I'm not referring to the impossibility of a single man stealing priceless artifacts from museums across the world without ever getting caught. In fact, I've done that myself a few times. So what is unrealistic about this movie? Well, take a look for yourself.

Hrithik Roshan is the talented actor who plays this daring robber. Hrithik Roshan - with his fair complexion, hazel eyes, and brown hair - plays the main character in the INDIAN movie Dhoom 2. And what about his lovely partner?

Is it just me or do these people look very foreign?
Now, you might think I'm overreacting...BUT I'M NOT! In almost every Indian movie, the main characters are played by "white" people. Indian movies brainwash the public into believing darker skin is inferior. I beg your pardon but this brainwashing isn't just subtle, it's also very obvious. The characters themselves explicitly state the "greater beauty" of light skin. As terrible as this brainwashing would be in any country, it's even more terrible in a country like India where the majority of people have brown skin.
India sells more movies internationally than any other country. When people across the world are watching these movies, it's absolutely ridiculous to try and sell the idea of a white India. Indians are NOT white and it's high time the movie producers embrace this reality. It's high time for them to promote equality and not be ashamed of their own country.
Where did India even get this idea of white superiority? From the British? Our generous masters who enslaved us in our own country for more than 2 centuries? Come on India, wake up from your zombie slumber and protest these movies!
